This is what is meant by the term "charge cycles"

When we talk about charge cycles on a MacBook, we are referring to the amount of time it takes for a battery to charge after it has been fully discharged. To determine what this means for your device, you need to follow this procedure:
  1. Hold down the MacBook's Option key and click on the Apple menu.
  2. Look up System Information and click on the "Power" category.
  3. Now you will get all the information that is currently available about your MacBook. Click on the option "Battery Information".
  4. Behind this heading you will see a number listed, which informs you how many charging cycles are currently open.
  5. This number tells you how long you have until you need to replace the battery of your MacBook, according to Apple.

Does a battery need to be renewed after using up the charge cycles?

If the battery of your MacBook is still working well, you obviously do not have to replace it. However, you should be prepared for the fact that the performance of the battery will decrease in the near future. In addition, you can use the number as a landmark to help you classify problems with your MacBook.
