O2: Disable mailbox SMS notification

O2 is one of the largest German mobile phone providers. Usually you get a mailbox with to your phone contract. This notifies you as soon as there are new messages in your mailbox. If you want to deactivate the SMS notification, this can be done via customer service.

How to deactivate the SMS notification of the mailbox at O2?

If you are a customer in the O2 network you have to call the customer service to deactivate the SMS notifications of the mailbox.
  1. As a contract customer with O2, you can quickly reach the customer service with your O2 cell phone at the number 55222 completely free of charge.
  2. From the fixed network, you must use the number 089-7879400, which costs 20 cents per call.
  3. From another mobile network, you can reach the O2 hotline at the number 0176-88855222. Do you have a prepaid contract with O2, use 0176-88855282 instead.
You can of course also specify your request via the online form. To do this, go to the O2 contact page and click on "Your service, always and everywhere O2". Here you now log in with your data and next select the umbrella term for your request. In this case, "Deactivate SMS notification for mailbox". Now you will directly receive a solution suggestion or you can write a message to the customer service. With this procedure it can take a little while until the message is processed. You will be informed about it by e-mail.
