Skype doesn't ring: bring back notification sounds
If you use Skype a lot for chatting and calling, you naturally want to be informed immediately when a call comes in. Therefore, you should also hear a ring as soon as someone wants to reach you. If Skype doesn't ring, the problem can usually be solved quickly.
This may be the reason: Skype doesn't ring
First, make sure your sound is working. If your speakers, headphones or smartphone are very quiet or set to mute, the sound will not be louder even when you receive an incoming call via Skype. Also, check Skype status. If it is set to "Busy", you will not hear any notifications. If there is an update, bring Skype up to date.Your computer's sound settings may also be responsible:- Right-click the speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the taskbar and open the volume mixer.
- Find Skype and move the slider up if it is far down or even set to mute.
Check settings in Skype
If you hear the sound from other programs clearly, check your sound settings for Skype.- First open Skype.
- Click on your profile picture, navigate to "Settings > Audio and Video" and move the playback device volume slider to the right.
- Then go to the "Notifications" menu.
- Make sure notification sounds and in-app sounds are enabled.
- Now go to Windows settings. Right-click the Windows icon and select them.
- Navigate to "Apps > Apps & Features" and look for Skype in the list.
- Make sure all permissions are granted under "Advanced Options".
