Where WhatsApp stores your pictures

On both iOS and Android devices, you'll find all of your stored WhatsApp media in your Photos app and Image Gallery, respectively. Both incoming and outgoing image files are automatically saved by WhatsApp in a folder of the same name, which can be accessed from there. If you want to see which pictures you have exchanged with a particular friend, proceed as follows:

1. You can find the photos received and sent to individual contacts by clicking on the respective contact in the top bar on WhatsApp.
2. Under the item "Media, links and docs" all WhatsApp pictures between this contact and you are stored.

How to disable the storage of photos and videos on WhatsApp

Do you prefer not to have WhatsApp store your pictures, you can also disable this. To do this, open WhatsApp and go to the settings menu. There, click on "Chats."
