Huawei P30 Pro: Screen black - what to do?

If the screen of the Huawei P30 Pro remains black, various errors are possible. First, however, make sure that the smartphone is actually switched on or can be switched on.

First aid: screen stays black on Huawei P30 Pro

If the screen on your Huawei P30 Pro is black because the phone has been in the sun or feels very hot, turn it off and let it rest in the shade and as cool as possible for a few hours. In all other cases, you should first connect your Huawei to the mains and let it charge for at least 15 minutes. Then try turning it off and on again via the power button. The restart sometimes already fixes the problem at hand, regardless of whether the device was discharged or whether the Android operating system crashed.

Resetting the smartphone

If charging and restarting does not help and the screen of the Huawei P30 Pro still remains black, then it may help to reset the device. This resets the operating system. However, the process also deletes your personal data. If your PC recognizes your Huawei, you can create a backup beforehand.
  1. When the smartphone is on, first turn it off.
  2. Then press the power button and the "Volume up" button simultaneously to turn it on.
  3. When you see the manufacturer's logo, let go of the power button.
  4. The volume up button let go only when you see a menu.
  5. Now select "Factory reset" here.
If the reset also does not help, the cable of the graphics card to the screen could have come off or be defective. As a layman, it is best to have this checked by a specialist.
