If your smartphone has a bug or otherwise stops working properly, it may be worth resetting Android to factory settings. This deletes all data, photos, videos and settings and completely resets the phone. Make a backup beforehand so you don't lose any data.

How to factory reset an Android 9 phone?

The best way is to save all your data in your Google account, then you can sync it back to your Android smartphone after the reset.
  1. Go to the settings by launching the associated app. This usually has a gear as an icon.
  2. Now tap on "System" and then directly on "Reset options".
  3. Now you can tap on the option "Erase all data (factory setting)" and further on "Reset phone". You need to confirm this process with your security type.
  4. Now when you click on "Erase All", all data will be deleted from the device's memory. Once the smartphone has reset itself to factory settings, it will restart.
  5. Now you can set up the device, and restore your data.
  6. You can also use a key combination to reset the device back to factory settings. To do this, press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button at the same time. However, the key combination often depends on the device manufacturer. A detailed listing can be found on the support page of Google.
