Resetting the Fritzbox to factory settings

If your Fritzbox suddenly stops working properly, you should act as soon as possible. Instead of troubleshooting, it is recommended to reset the Fritzbox to factory settings. This way, you start from scratch.

Fritzbox: Performing a hard reset

How to perform a hard reset on your Fritzbox:

1. First disconnect the Fritzbox from the power supply and then plug in the phone.
2. Now plug the Fritzbox back into the power supply and wait until it has completely booted up. If this is the case, the power LED lights up.
3. Now take the connected phone and dial the following key combination: #991*15901590.
4. You will now hear a beep. Then you can hang up again.
5. Finally, your Fritzbox is reset to factory settings and you can set it up again.

Reset Fritzbox using software

If you do not have a phone at hand, you can also reset the Fritzbox using software. Hierfür gehen Sie wie folgt vor:

1. Starten Sie Ihren Browser und gehen Sie auf die Fritzbox-Homepage.
2. Loggen Sie sich dort mit Ihren Zugangsdaten ein.
3. Wählen Sie nun „System“ und anschließend „Sicherung“ aus.
4. Nun können Sie auf „Werkseinstellungen“ drücken und Ihre Fritzbox zurücksetzen. Anschließend können Sie Ihr Gerät wieder neu einrichten. Dies funktioniert ebenfalls über die Fritzbox-Homepage.
