iPhone X found: Determine owner

Having found an iPhone X, the device offers several helpful features to determine the owner of the device. Depending on whether these are enabled, finding the owner is possible using Siri or the "Find My iPhone" feature.

iPhone X found: Find the owner using Siri

If you have found an iPhone X, you should not just keep the device, but return it to the owner. If you do not know who owns the device, you have the option to hand in the found iPhone X at a lost and found office or the police. Alternatively, you can also try to determine the owner yourself.
  1. If Siri is activated on the found iPhone X, the voice assistant can help you determine the owner.
  2. To do this, first activate Siri using the command "Hey Siri" or by pressing the "standby button" on the right side of the device.
  3. Then ask Siri the question "Who owns this iPhone?" so that Siri lists you the contact details of the owner.

Determining the owner of the iPhone X: More tips

If you could not determine the owner with Siri, there is another option for this. If the owner of the iPhone X uses the function "Find my iPhone", this can remotely report the device as lost and lock or even delete it for protection. If this is the case, a message is usually displayed on the device's screen with information on how to contact the owner to return the device.
