Export browser settings to Firefox
Firefox offers you many possibilities to customize the browser according to your wishes. For this you can set bookmarks, make settings or switch to dark mode. If you use a different PC, you have to download Firefox again. If you want to take over your previously made settings exactly the same way, you have to export them before.
How to export your Firefox browser settings
If you have Firefox installed on your computer, then you can customize the browser according to your preferences. You can change the design, set bookmarks or select settings. If you switch to another computer, you will have to download the browser again. However, before you make all the settings again, you can export them from the previously used Firefox and then import them again.- Start the Firefox version from which you want to export the settings.
- In the upper right corner of the browser, there is an icon with three horizontal lines. Click on it to see more options.
- Click on the icon with the question mark here to open the "Help" menu.
- Then select the "Troubleshooting information" menu item.
- The next window contains the "General information" section. Next to your profile folder, you will see the "Open Folder" button. Click on it.
- Then copy the entire folder to an external medium, such as a USB stick.
- Now go to the computer with the newly installed Firefox browser.
- Here, change to the path "C:\Users\BENUTZER\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xj1gwf5l.default". Replace "USER" with your user name on the system.
