Creating a NAS Backup: These ways to do it
Backing up your NAS prevents losing important data in the event of a software or hardware glitch. You should therefore regularly back up your data. In doing so, you have several options. For example, you can use a cloud to back up the data on an external server.
How to create a backup of a NAS?
Many users use their NAS to store and back up data. However, if this data is no longer on internal storage, there is no copy of the data. In case of damage to the storage of your NAS or a software problem with the servers, the data can be lost. Therefore, you should always create a backup to prevent data loss. How to backup your NAS
- About an external hard drive: an external disk is usually the first choice when backing up a NAS. Make sure your external hard drive is large enough. You can connect the external hard drive to the NAS with a USB cable.
- With an internal hard drive on a connected device: If you have enough storage on a device connected to the NAS, you can upload the data to an internal hard drive over the network. This may take some time to complete. Schedule the backup accordingly.
- Using a cloud: You can use a cloud service to back up your NAS. Check the different providers to find a cloud that suits you. It is recommended to set up a permanent mirroring of the NAS. Then the data will be automatically uploaded at regular intervals and there is always a current backup.
