iPhone XS: Change name - these ways work

To customize your iPhone XS, you have the option to change the default name of the device. This is possible either directly on the Apple smartphone or by using iTunes.

How to change the name of the iPhone XS directly on the device

By default, your iPhone XS has the name "iPhone", which is displayed to other devices when connecting via Bluetooth or AirPlay. If you don't like the default name or want to set an individual name for easier differentiation, you can change this directly on the device.

1. To set a new name for your iPhone XS, first open the Settings app on the device by clicking the "gear icon" in the status bar or app overview.
2. In Settings, please then navigate to "General" and tap "Info".
3. There you will see the current name of your iPhone XS directly in the first line and you have the option to type in a new name.

Alternatively to the method described above, a change of the name of your iPhone XS is also possible via iTunes. To do this, launch iTunes on your PC or Mac and connect the iPhone XS to the computer via USB cable. Then double-click the name of your iPhone in the program and enter a new name. To confirm the change you have made, press the "Enter" button.
