iTunes doesn't recognize cell phone - what you can do

The multimedia software iTunes is mostly used to manage music, movies and other data on the iPhone, iPad or iPod. For this, the Apple device must be connected to the PC. If iTunes does not recognize the device, you can try different ways.

What you can do if iTunes doesn't recognize your phone

First, check if your smartphone is connected to the PC with a suitable, working cable. If possible, always use the original Apple cable. In some cases, the problems lie with the USB port. Test out different ports here as well.
  1. iTunes should be as up to date as possible. If this is not the case, download the latest version.
  2. Also the PC used should have all new updates installed.
  3. Restart all devices and check if the problem has been fixed.
  4. Test the connection again by unplugging and plugging the phone again. Answer "Trust" to the question whether you trust this computer.
  5. If none of the above helps, you should contact Apple Support.
