Reddit Layer: All the info on the seasonal community project

The Reddit project called Layer is entering its second season. Our guide explains how it works, how you can join in yourself, and why creativity is needed.

Reddit invites people to draw together and the rules are only very roughly specified. Creative Redditors should take a look at the project.

Reddit: This is the Layer Project

You can find the project in the subreddit of the same name r/layer. There you will find the creative box at the top:

• You will see a colorful rectangle filled with a wide variety of graphics.
• This consists of different layers ("layers"). By clicking on a spot, you will see the layers available there and can select one of them to prove your design skills yourself.
• Above the drawing box, you can choose between different themes. For example, there is a canvas for comics, for gaming, for music and movies.
• Since many thousands of redditors collaborate on the project, quite a few layers are created, each with countless designs.
• This results in a colorful, partly chaotic picture, in which there is, however, much to discover.
• A new feature of the second layer season is the possibility to perform upvotes and downvotes for each individual layer. In this way, particularly good or popular created layers make it to the top and become more visible than poorly rated layers.

The layer project is held in cooperation with Adobe. As a specialist in design, graphics and photo editing software, the company fits perfectly with r/layer in terms of content. To join Layer, you don't even need to be a subscriber to the subreddit; only a Reddit account is required.
