1. To check which version you currently have installed, first open the app.
2. Now tap on the top right of Android on the three small dots to get into the settings. In iOS, it is enough to tap on the settings icon at the bottom of the bar.
3. In the settings, go further to "Help" and from there to "App Info".
4. Here you can see the current version of WhatsApp.

You can easily update all apps on your smartphone. To do this, open the Google Play app and navigate here to "Apps & Games". You will be shown a list in which you can see which apps need an update. Either click on "Update" for the corresponding app or further up on "Update all".
