GIMP: Blend layer - this is how it is possible

GIMP is a free image editing program. With the numerous functions that the software provides you, you can edit images according to your wishes. So it is also possible to blend layers.

This is how you can crossfade a layer in GIMP

In the free image editing program GIMP you can, among other things, crossfade layers to thus superimpose images and graphics.

1. Download the program from a website of your choice and perform the installation.
2. Start GIMP and go to "File" > "Open". Load an image into the program, which should be in the background.
3. Then open another image, which comes into the layer above.
4. If you want to have both images in the same size, you can adjust them via "Image" > "Scale image" to your liking.
5. Mit der rechten Maustaste klicken Sie nun auf das zweite Bild, das Sie geöffnet haben, um ein Kontextmenü zu öffnen.
6. Wählen Sie hier nun „Bearbeiten“ aus und danach die Option „Sichtbares kopieren“.
7. Gehen Sie auf das Fenster mit dem ersten Bild und klicken Sie auch hier mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Bild. Wählen Sie in diesem Kontextmenü den Punkt „Bearbeiten“ und danach „Einfügen als“. Klicken Sie auf „Neue Ebene“.
8. Nun wird das kopierte Bild als neue Ebene in das Programm eingefügt.
9. In der neuen Ebene können Sie nun „Überlagern“ einstellen, um diese zu überblenden.
