Windows: Set printer quality permanently

When you want to print a document, you can make numerous settings beforehand to get the best printing result. Most of the time, the preset printer quality is not the one you want for your document. However, you can change this at any time under Windows.

How to set printer quality permanently in Windows

If you don't like the preset printer quality and don't want to change it every time you print, you can set a specific quality permanently.

1. To do this, go to the Control Panel of your operating system. You can find this using the search bar on your desktop.
2. Click on the "Show devices and printers" button. This is located in the "Hardware and Sound" section. Use the icon view, then click on the icon labeled "Devices and Printers".
3. In the list of installed printers, right-click to select the printer where you want to permanently change the settings.
4. Im Dropdown-Menü gehen Sie anschließend auf die Option „Druckeinstellungen“.
5. Als nächstes wählen Sie den Reiter „Papier/Qualität“ aus und klicken auf „Erweitert“.
6. Im Bereich Grafik finden Sie die Einstellungen zur Drucker-Qualität.
7. Die Qualität wird in der Einheit dots per inch, kurz dpi, angegeben. Wählen Sie hier die für die gewünschte Qualität nötige Anzahl an dpi aus.
8. Bestätigen Sie anschließend alle Änderungen mit einem Klick auf „OK“.
