Windows 10 Taskbar: Enlarge icons

In the Windows 10 taskbar properties you can select the icon size. Here you have the choice between two fixed sizes. However, even the large icons are still quite small. With the help of a free tool, you can further enlarge and customize the taskbar icons.

How to enlarge taskbar icons in Windows 10

In the taskbar properties, you can choose between small and large icons in the Windows taskbar.

1. Right-click on the taskbar.
2. Select "Taskbar settings" from the context menu.
3. Deselect the item "Use small taskbar buttons".

If the taskbar icons are still too small for you, you can make further adjustments with the free tool 7+ Taskbar Tweaker.

1. Download the tool and install it on your system.
2. Start "7+ Taskbar Tweaker" after installation. A window with various setting options will then open.
3. To change the icon size, however, you need to access the advanced settings. To do this, right-click on the icon of the tool in the taskbar. Select there in the menu "Advanced Options".
4. It now opens a new small window. Look there for the entry "w10_large_icons".
5. To activate the large icons, double-click on the value. This will then change from a 0 to a 1.

Difference in icon sizes

The Windows 10 large taskbar icons are 24 x 24 pixels. In Windows 7 or 8, large taskbar icons had a size of 32 x 32 pixels. With the taskbar tweaker you can set exactly this size again.
