How to connect laptop to TV

If you want to present vacation photos, videos or streaming cinema movies on TV, you can simply connect your laptop to the TV. This works both with and, under certain conditions, without cables.

How to connect your laptop and TV via HDMI cable

For a direct connection between your laptop and TV, use an HMDI cable. Virtually all newer televisions have at least one HDMI port. The same applies to laptops, but with one exception: Ultrabooks are often only equipped with a micro-HDMI port due to their extremely slim design. An adapter provides a remedy. Once the cables are connected, press "Source" or "AV" on the TV to switch on the correct HDMI input channel.

In addition, it is also possible to connect the laptop wirelessly to a smart TV. If your TV is not Internet-enabled, you can help out with a Chromecast.If the TV and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi network and both are turned on, proceed as follows to connect the devices.
