Update Xbox One Controller: How it works

Under normal circumstances, the Xbox One controller should always work as it should. However, if there are problems, it may help to install the latest firmware if you haven't already. Read how the update succeeds.

You can easily update the Xbox One controller. For this, you only need to turn on the console.

How to update your Xbox One controller

The update works as follows:

1. Open the Xbox menu, the "Settings" section.
2. There, select "Devices & Connections" and then "Accessories".
3. Click on the icon with the three dots.
4. In the next window you will see the info on the current firmware version with the option to update.
5. Confirm with "Update Now".

If an update is available, it will now be performed and the controller will then be up to date again.
