Link GOG to Steam: How it works

Steam continues to dominate PC gaming, but GOG is an alternative that is popular with a growing number of players. Read how to connect the two platforms.

Practical: If you prefer GOG Galaxy as a client, you can import some Steam games there.

By linking GOG with Steam, you can optionally play certain Steam titles in the GOG client as well. This is possible thanks to GOG Connect.

Linking GOG with Steam: This is how it works with GOG Connect

GOG Connect has been around since 2016. Via this tool, you consequently perform the link:

1. Go to gog.com/connect and log in.
2. Then click on the button to establish the connection with Steam.
3. Thereupon, you will be taken to the Steam login page and must log in there. The link is thereby activated.
4. Below you can now see which Steam games you own and can add to GOG.

The import is namely only possible for Steam games that also exist for GOG. It is also important that you can only link your GOG account to a Steam account and this can not be undone. For most gamers, this won't matter; however, those who have multiple Steam accounts should keep this point in mind.
