iPhone 11: Rotate screen - how it works
The iPhone 11 automatically detects whether it is held horizontally or vertically and rotates the screen accordingly. This gives you the option to switch between portrait and landscape modes. To prevent the screen from rotating along, you can turn on the activation lock.
How to turn the orientation lock on and off
If you want to activate or deactivate the orientation lock, it works conveniently via the control center of your Apple iPhone 11.
- Swipe your fingers from the bottom of the screen upwards to open the control center.
- Find the lock icon and tap it. If the icon is red, the lock is active.
- To disable the lock, tap the lock icon again.
Note that the settings and home screen of Apple iPhone 11 cannot be displayed horizontally.
Alignment lock does not work properly - now what?
If the screen does not rotate even though the alignment lock is turned off, this may be due to a bug. In such a case, try turning the lock on and off again. If the problem persists, restarting the iPhone 11 can fix the issue. To do so, press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons until the "Turn off" slider appears on the display. After powering off, wait for about 30 seconds before turning the device back on. If the screen does not rotate even after a restart despite the alignment lock being deactivated, you can try resetting the smartphone.
