Jira: Delete board - how to do it

The Jira application used for troubleshooting is primarily used in the software industry. To edit and view issues in Jira, you need a board. In a board, you can see all tasks from different projects at a glance.

How to delete a board in Jira

Even though applications like Jira or Trello rely on an intuitive user interface, the function to delete a board is not immediately visible in the settings:

1. Open Jira and click on "View all boards" within a project.
2. Now you see a list with all active boards. Using the search bar, you can also search for a specific board there.
3. Once you have found the board you want to delete, click on the "3-dot icon" in the board bar on the right.
4. There you will find, among other things, the "Delete" option. By clicking on "Delete" you remove the board from your list.

So far, this is the only way to delete a board in Jira. However, users often cannot find this function. To delete a board, you basically need permission, which can only be activated by your company's Jira administrator. Boards in Jira are mostly created according to Scrum or Agile principles.
