YouTube: Transcript gives overview in text form

If a video has a transcript, you can open it in the web view as follows:

1. Click on the icon with the three dots in the small menu bar below the video title.
2. Select "Open transcript".

The transcript then appears on the right below the video in an additional window. Assuming a good sound quality, YouTube automatically recognizes the spoken content and reproduces it in writing in the transcript. This gives you a chronological overview of the content, which is handy, for example, if you are looking for a specific point in the video.
