Which network is Telefonica? You need to know about it

In Germany, you have a wide choice of mobile providers that offer you rates in different price ranges. Not every provider operates its own mobile network, which means that many share someone else's network. There are a total of three networks in Germany at the moment. One of these is the Telefonica network.

If you want to sign a new mobile phone contract or need a prepaid SIM card, you first have to decide on one of the many providers. Especially in rural areas, network coverage plays a major role here. Not every mobile provider operates its own mobile network. This means that they usually share the network of another provider.

1. Totally, there are currently three mobile networks in Germany. In the tests, the D1 network of Deutsche Telekom performs best.
2. Lightly behind usually follows the D2 network. This is operated by Vodafone and belongs to the network with the best price-performance ratio.
3. The Telefonica network is the third mobile network. This performs rather worse, especially in terms of network coverage and speed. However, you can expect cheaper tariff prices with this provider. The O2 and E-Plus networks have also been integrated into the Telefoinca network in recent years, so coverage has improved somewhat. In rural areas, however, it is often not given.
