Amazon Prime: Activate subtitles - how to do it

If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you can also access Prime Video content. This involves numerous movies, series and documentaries. If you are watching a movie in another language, you have the option of activating a subtitle for certain content.

How to enable subtitles on Amazon Prime

If you want to watch movies or series with original sound on Amazon Prime, then you can also turn on a subtitle. You can see whether this option is available by the "CC" icon in the video details. Optionally, you will see the abbreviation "UT" on the overview page. Usually, mainly an English subtitle is available, but in some cases you can choose between other languages. In the product details of the content, you can find more information about the subtitle in the "Subtitle and Caption" section. You can activate the subtitle itself once you have started the video.

1. Access the content through your browser and hover over the image until the menu icons appear in the top right corner.
2. Klicken Sie anschließend das Icon mit der Sprechblase an, um das Menü „Untertitel- und Wiedergabesprache“ auszuwählen.
3. Hier können Sie nun auf der linken Seite eine Sprache für den Untertitel auswählen, dieser wird anschließend direkt aktiviert.
4. Um den Untertitel wieder zu deaktivieren, wiederholen Sie die Schritte. Wählen Sie im Menü anschließend anstatt einer Sprache den Punkt „Aus“.
