Hide subtitles on TV - how to do it
Subtitles make it easier for people with poor hearing to follow the current TV program. If the display of subtitles on the screen of your TV disturbs you, it is easily possible to hide them. We explain how to do it in this guide.
How to hide the display of subtitles when watching TV
If you have activated the subtitle function on your TV, the dialogues of the program you are watching will be displayed on the screen. This is especially useful for deaf or hard of hearing people to follow the program without any problems. If you do not need the subtitles or have activated their display by mistake, you can hide them again at any time.- If you still have an analog TV, the subtitles will be shown to you via a page in the teletext and will also be switched off again there.
- Some televisions, however, have a separate button on the remote control to turn on and off the subtitles. This is usually marked with a speech bubble symbol or with words like "SUBT" or "Sub".
- In addition, the hiding of subtitles is also possible via the menu of the TV. To do this, open the settings and look in the "Display", "Audio" or "Sound" for a corresponding entry.
