Steam: Redeem Keys - how to do it

On the Steam platform you can purchase computer games, software, movies and series developed by Valve Corporation. To add a purchased game to the account, you need to enter the corresponding key. How to redeem this key, we show you below.

Redeem a Steam key in the client

1. Log in to your Steam user account or create a new account.
2. Now click on "Add a game" in the bottom left corner.
3. Follow this by selecting "Activate a product on Steam."
4. A new window will open. Click here on "Next" and confirm with "OK" the subscription agreement with Steam.
5. Now you can enter the key of the game you want to activate in the field "Product key".
6. Finally select "Next". The game will be added to your Steam account.

Enable Steam key in the browser

Alternatively to the client, it is also possible to activate the key directly in the browser. Dies können Sie sowohl am PC als auch auf Smartphones oder Tablets machen.

1. Öffnen Sie zunächst die Aktivierungsseite von Steam in Ihrem Webbrowser.
2. Melden Sie sich nun mit Ihren Konto-Daten bei Steam an.
3. Tragen Sie im Anschluss in das Produktschlüssel-Feld Ihren Key ein und gehen Sie auf „Weiter“.
4. Abschließend wird der Key aktiviert und Ihrem Benutzerkonto wird das dazugehörige Spiel hinzugefügt.
