How to open ZIP files directly in the file manager

To open ZIP files on your Android device, you need a file manager like ES File Explorer or AndroZip that supports this feature. If you have installed a suitable file manager on your smartphone, first search for the ZIP file to be opened in it. Then tap on the file and select the ZIP viewer of the data manager. To unzip the files, please highlight them before clicking "Unzip" and selecting a location.

Open ZIP files: This other option is available on Android devices

To avoid installing a new file manager on your Android device that has a function to unzip and open ZIP files, you can also use a special app. For example, this is possible for free with the app "WinZip".

1. To install WinZip on your device, search for "WinZip" in the Play Store and first click "Install" and then "Accept".
2. After that, open the app, go to "Start" and select the ZIP file you want to open to view it.
3. If you want to unzip the files contained in the ZIP folder on your Android device, tap the square in the top right corner to do so to mark all files with a check mark.
