Alternative search engines: Without Google it also goes

Google secures with a use of over 70 percent the first place as the most used search engine. Even though the giant ensures satisfied results and helps the searcher in no time, other search engines can easily keep up in this regard.

These alternative search engines exist

Google is considered unchallenged and this status will not change anytime soon. Nevertheless, there are some good alternatives through which you can even draw added value for yourself.
  1. Besides Google, Bing is the most used search engine. This is partly because it comes from Microsoft and is already built into Microsoft Edge as the default search engine.
  2. Ecosia is a search engine that offers you and your environment added value. Through the ad revenue, the company finances the planting of new trees. You are not necessarily overwhelmed with advertising in the process. The use is enough to contribute your share.
  3. StartPage uses the search results of Google, but is also much more modern in terms of data protection. You disclose less data and still use the same search engine. Both StartPage and Ixquick operated by the same company.

Anonymous on the Internet

  1. DuckDuckGo is a suitable alternative if you do not want to pass on any data when using the browser. The search engine is mainly used in the Tor browser and is extremely private.
  2. Ixquick also does not store any user data and thus makes browsing more pleasant and many times safer. However, the StartPage and Ixquick search engines were merged back in 2016. Since then, there is only StartPage, but some settings options were taken over from Ixquick.
