The R&D department has hardly been changed compared to F1 2019. However, it is still important to set priorities.

F1 2020: Get R&D right

For F&E, you need points. You generate these by completing training objectives. So it pays to go through the training programs before each race to have lots of points available.

• F&E consists of four areas: Engine, Aerodynamics, Chassis and Durability. The latter only indirectly affects the performance of your car, as it improves the longevity of all parts. This means less loss of power in the race.
• Of the three performance areas, you should focus primarily on engine and aerodynamics. The chassis decides the weight of the car and is therefore also not unimportant; however, the effects of the other two areas are somewhat stronger.
• Therefore, you should not neglect any area. Take a balanced approach to improve your car in every respect. This will allow you to be highly competitive on all tracks.

In addition, in MyTeam mode, which is new in F1 2020, you can invest your earnings in the facilities. This reduces the error rate and research time, which massively accelerates progress. Also importantly, you can give individual departments a short-term boost through your answers in interviews.
