Subnautica: Below Zero - release info for the first expansion

Subnautica was a real surprise success and developer Unknown Worlds Entertainment is taking advantage of the moment to follow up. Subnautica: Below Zero was announced in summer 2018 and is now playable in Early Access. All information on the game's official release date is available here.

Subnautica: Below Zero Release: This is what you should know about the game

Magical water worlds combined with moments of terror in the darkness: this mixture makes the appeal of Subnautica. In detail, Subnautica: Below Zero is an expansion that is also a standalone game. So unlike normal expansions, owning the main game is not a prerequisite.

• Thematically, the expansion continues the survival principle of Subnautica, but takes place in a new location. One remains, however, on the same planet (4546B).
• As the name suggests, it will be very cold: Both above and below the water surface frosty areas await the player.
• As befits an expansion, there are many new game contents, such as in the vehicles.

Release: Then Subnautica Below Zero will be released

Playing Subnautica: Below Zero in the Early Access phase is currently only possible on Steam. The release of the first version took place there on January 30, 2019. The release of the finished game for the PC and for various consoles, such as Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, there will probably be in the first quarter of 2021.
