iPhone X: Fingerprint sensor - all information on how to use it
Since the iPhone X is the first iPhone model without a home button, the device also no longer has the fingerprint sensor. Instead, the iPhone X uses a facial recognition feature called Face ID to unlock the device.
Face recognition instead of fingerprint sensor: this is how the setup works on the iPhone X
While the iPhone 8 still had a fingerprint sensor, Apple equipped the iPhone X with a facial recognition feature instead. This is used by default to unlock the device and must be set up beforehand.- To use facial recognition, please go to "Face ID & Code" in the settings of your iPhone X and enter your unlock code.
- Tap "Let's go" under "Configure Face ID" afterwards to start the setup.
- You will now see a square frame on the screen, in the middle of which your head must be.
- Have you done everything correctly, the frame becomes round and you have to move your head in a circle until the green progress bar is filled.
