PC mouse hangs - these are the causes

Your PC mouse allows you to quickly switch between different areas of the desktop without using an extra key combination. However, it can happen that the mouse hangs, usually because there is dirt in the light sensor.

Why does the PC mouse hang?

If the mouse hangs, it can have several diverse causes. It also depends on whether you are working on a PC or a laptop.

1. If you have the mouse connected to your laptop, then it can happen that while you are using the keyboard, you come to the touchpad. On the screen, the mouse then stops or jumps to another point. You should disable the touchpad so that this no longer occurs.
2. The PC can also be overloaded. This is especially the case if you use graphically demanding software such as video games or video editing programs. Here, the GPU (graphics processor) is overloaded, and for this reason, the entire image jerks and it seems to you as if the mouse is hanging.
3. If you are using a wireless mouse, a weak battery or battery can also be the cause. Check the status of the batteries and replace them with full batteries if necessary. Or charge the battery of the mouse.
