Samsung Note 10: Firmware update - close gaps

A major advantage of Samsung smartphones is that the company keeps providing you with appropriate patches to fix gaps and issues. The Samsung Note 10 had issues with security, which is why a new patch was released in November 2019 to close these gaps.

How to perform the firmware update on the Samsung Note 10

In total, the Samsung Note 10 has several gaps for which the November security patch was programmed. Due to this, you should perform the update.
  1. First, open the settings of your Samsung Note 10 by clicking on the gear icon in the menu.
  2. You will find several sections, among which you can select the "Software" section.
  3. Click on the "Software Update" option and select that you want to download it.
  4. The process may take a few minutes, as the November firmware update is relatively large.
  5. Following this, you will need to agree to and complete the installation.
  6. Make sure you have enough battery in advance and take your time with this process.
  7. Following this, reboot your Samsung Note 10 and don't be surprised if it takes a little longer than usual.

What vulnerabilities exist?

When you go to Samsung's website, you will not be told what vulnerabilities exist on your smartphone. This is because Samsung doesn't want to give cybercriminals any clues as to where they can target. Due to this, you as a user will also not be informed exactly where the vulnerabilities are located.
