How can I find my bookmarks in Firefox?

If you've been using the Firefox browser for a while, you've probably noticed the bookmark feature. Bookmarks allow you to go directly to the web page behind the bookmark using a single click. If you want to export bookmarks, you need to know their location.

Where to find your bookmarks in Firefox

While bookmarks can be created and managed in the browser, they are not stored within the application, but in a hidden folder.
  1. To get to your bookmarks, you must first use the key combination [Win] + [R] to launch the "Run" command.
  2. Now enter "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" in the text box and confirm.
  3. Should you get no results, repeat the process and enter only "Appdata".
  4. Now manually navigate through the specified folders until you get to the folder "default".
  5. Within this folder you will find all stored data from Firefox.
  6. In the folder "bookmarkbackups" are your bookmarks in the form of a JSON file.

Lesezeichen importieren und exportieren
