How to import bookmarks into Firefox

If you have exported bookmarks from Google Chrome, Apple's Safari or other browsers, you can import them into your Firefox with a few simple steps. Firefox offers you several ways to import the bookmarks.

Import Firefox bookmarks

Firefox offers its own synchronization feature called Firefox Sync. This stores all your browser data, such as bookmarks, in the cloud. This way, when you log in to another computer with your Firefox user account, you can access this data anywhere.
  1. Click on your profile in the top right corner of Firefox.
  2. Select "Sync Settings" and make sure the feature is enabled.
  3. Now click "Sync Now".
  4. Now switch to another device, log in with your Firefox account and the bookmarks will be imported.

How to import bookmarks via HTML file in Firefox

In addition to importing via HTML file, Firefox also offers the possibility to import bookmarks directly from another installed browser. For this to succeed, you must first import the bookmarks from Firefox or from your previously used browser. Then proceed as follows:
  1. Open Firefox and press the key combination [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + B to open the library.
  2. Click in the library at the top of the navigation on "Import and Save".
  3. Select the menu item "Import bookmarks from HTML...". Then select the HTML file that contains your bookmarks and click "Open".
  4. Alternatively, select "Import data from another browser..." and click "Next". Now navigate to the file you previously exported from another browser.
