iPad hangs - how to fix it
If the iPad hangs, a restart can help. You can force this by pressing the home button and the standby button until the Apple logo appears on the display. If only one app is hanging on the iPad, quit it instead.
iPad hangs: Troubleshooting options
If your iPad suddenly hangs during use and stops responding to inputs, you should restart the device. To do this, press and hold the standby button until the power off slider appears on the screen. If this does not work, proceed as follows:- If a single app has hung up, quit it. To do this, press and hold the home button for six seconds. On new models, swipe up from the bottom to the middle of the screen. Then swipe the app up to close it.
- Alternatively, wait until the battery is dead. Then, when you plug your iPad in, it should turn back on.
This is what you can do if iPad hangs on startup
Sometimes, it can also happen that you turn on your iPad and it hangs during the startup process. To fix the error, use the recovery:- Connect the iPad to iTunes by cable.
- Now press the Volume Up button, then briefly press the Volume Down button, then press the Power button until the device restarts. For devices with a home button, press the standby button and the iPad's home button at the same time. Do not release the buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Your tablet is now in recovery mode.
- Then click "Refresh" in iTunes. If the function is not available, select "Restore".
