Can you get on the Internet with your iPod? So it works

In addition to the classic iPod, there are four other iPod models with the iPod Mini, the iPod Nano, the iPod Touch and the iPod Shuffle, which have different functions. You can find out here whether you can also access the Internet with the different models.

How to connect to the Internet with iPod

Whether you can go online with your iPod depends on which iPod model you have. While it is not possible to go to the Internet with the iPod Mini, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, you can access the Internet via WLAN on the iPod Touch.
  1. To connect the iPod Touch to a WLAN network, please first open the Settings app of the device and navigate to "WLAN".
  2. Then activate the "WLAN" option there and tap the network you want to connect to in the list of available networks.
  3. If this network is a secured network, please now still enter the WLAN password to establish the connection.
  4. If the iPod Touch is connected to a WLAN network, the WLAN icon appears at the top of the screen.

Using a WLAN hotspot on the iPod

Because none of the iPods released so far has a cell phone module, a connection to the Internet via a cellular network is not yet possible. Nevertheless, in order to surf the Internet without WLAN, you can fall back on the Internet connection of your iPhone. If your iPhone is set up as a hotspot, please navigate to "Settings" > "WLAN" > "Personal Hotspots" on the iPod Touch and tap on the name of your iPhone.
