FaceTime: Waiting for activation - how to solve the problem

FaceTime is an application from Apple that allows you to communicate with each other via video call on iOS devices. All you need is just a device running at least iOS 4 operating system, as well as a camera, a microphone and working Internet.

When setting up FaceTime on your device, it is quite possible that the application does not work and you get the "Waiting for activation" error message. However, in most cases you can easily fix this problem with a few clicks and then use the application as usual. Also keep in mind that such an activation may well take some time.

1. First, you should check whether your operating system is up to date and you have the latest iOS version. To do this, navigate to "General" under "Settings" and then to "Software Update". If your version is outdated, you can now update it.
2. Further, it is recommended to check whether you have a functioning mobile network as well as a stable Internet connection. Often problems arise in this way, which is why it is also recommended due to the amount of data to use the application via a WLAN connection.
3. Test also whether your phone is set to the correct time zone. For this, simply follow the path "Settings" > "General" and "Date and time". If an incorrect time zone is stored there, select "Set automatically" so that your smartphone always automatically adjusts to your current time zone.
