Google Home: Update - these steps are necessary
Google Home is a smart speaker. With it, you can control other devices or use functions from your smartphone by voice command. In order to use Google Home without any problems, it is necessary to perform software updates as soon as they are available.
How to perform a Google Home update
Once you have set up your Google Home speaker, all available updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. For both, you need the app, which you must install on your smartphone beforehand. You can get this from the corresponding app store for free download. But even after that, new software updates are released regularly, which you have to install. Note that not every user receives an update at the same time as others.- First check whether your software is up to date. Go to the Google Home app via your smartphone.
- Select the option "Devices" at the top right and tap on Google Home.
- Then switch to another menu via the three dots icon at the top right. Under "Settings" you will now find the firmware version.
- To perform an update, you do not have to do anything. Once your device is connected to the Internet, updates are installed automatically. You can recognize this by the fact that six white dots rotating clockwise are shown on the display. Ein Update dauert in der Regel bis zu zehn Minuten.
