Two Dropbox Accounts: Access two accounts with one PC

Dropbox is a popular service for storing and sharing data in a cloud. A storage space of 2 gigabytes is available for free for individuals. If that's not enough for you, or you have two Dropbox accounts for some other reason, there is a solution to access both accounts.

Using two Dropbox accounts on one computer

For many users, the free 2 gigabytes that Dropbox provides are not enough and they want to use two accounts for this reason. Other users face the problem of having a work account and a personal account. It is not so easy to use two accounts on one computer, since Dropbox's software can only be used with one account. The solution is already to run Dropbox twice on the computer, but this does not work via a double installation, but via an additional portable version of the software.
  1. Create two Dropbox accounts.
  2. Install the standard version of Dropbox on your computer.
  3. Log in to the program with one of your two accounts.
  4. Download the portable version of Dropbox called "DropboxPortable AHK".
  5. Run the program "DropboxPortable AHK".
  6. Enter all relevant data during setup, such as the login details of the second account.
  7. Access your second Dropbox account via the now newly created second Dropbox folder.
