Google: Enable two-factor authentication

With Google you can not only make search queries, but also create an account. This gives you access to different services like Gmail or Drive. It is also used so that you can confirm your age on YouTube. To make the account as secure as possible, Google offers two-factor authentication.

How to enable two-factor authentication on your Google account?

With Google's two-factor authentication, in addition to the password, you will be asked for a code that you will receive via SMS, app, or by phone call.
  1. Open a browser of your choice and log in with your Google account. Now go through the following steps: "My account" > "Sign in & Security" > "Password & Sign in procedure" > "Confirmation in two steps".
  2. Next, you need to hiter a mobile number so that a confirmation code can be sent to you via SMS. You can receive the code by phone call or by SMS.
  3. Once you have received the code, simply enter it in the field displayed and then click "Next".
  4. Now you just need to click "Enable" so that the two-factor authentication is activated.
You can also disable the two-factor authentication in the same way again or activate the "Google prompt" instead. With this feature, you can simply press "Yes" on your phone instead of entering a code every time.
