Sending faxes by cell phone - how it works

Faxes have long been a staple of digital messaging. However, they are still used by companies and older people to exchange documents and messages. It is also possible to send a fax from your cell phone. To do this, simply use an app.

How to send a fax from your cell phone?

If you want to send a fax from your cell phone, you have the option of using an app. However, sending also works without an app.

1. You can easily send a fax via SMS. To do this, enter the message, which must not be longer than 150 characters, in the messaging app.
2. As the phone number, enter the fax number. The message is then sent by fax.
3. If you prefer to use an app, then you have the choice between several applications. The Deutsche Post app, for example, offers a function where you can send a fax completely free of charge.
4. To do this, however, you need to verify your identity with Deutsche Post. You do this either in a post office store or via Post Video Ident.
5. If you rarely send a fax, however, the FreeFax app is recommended. Bei dieser können Sie einmal am Tag ein Fax an eine Nummer in eines von 50 Ländern verschicken.

Eine Alternative zum Fax bietet der Versand eines Einschreibens, allerdings dauert es ein bis zwei Tage, bis es beim Empfänger ankommt.
