TripAdvisor: Delete account - how to do it

If you no longer need your account on the TripAdvisor platform, it is possible to delete it without any problems. However, this can only be done via the TripAdvisor website and not directly in the provider's smartphone app. We show you how to proceed.

Delete account: this is how TripAdvisor works

On TripAdvisor's website you can find a lot of information about resorts, hotels and restaurants, compare prices and make a booking directly. Before deciding to book a hotel or visit a restaurant, the many reviews of other visitors that can be found on the platform are also particularly useful. However, in order to use all of TripAdvisor's functions or to submit a review yourself, you need an account, which can be created free of charge.

With this procedure, you delete your TripAdvisor account

If you have an account with TripAdvisor that you no longer need, you can delete it at any time. However, account deletion is not possible directly in the TripAdvisor app, but can only be done in the browser.

1. To delete your account, first go to the TripAdvisor website and log in to your account with your user information.
2. In your account, then navigate to "Account information" and click the "Close my account" link.
3. A new window will then open asking you for the reason for closing your account. Please select one of the displayed options.
4. Now still enter your password and click "Close my account" to confirm the deletion.
