Snapchat's free app lets you quickly and easily share text messages and photos with your friends. However, if you no longer want to use Snapchat, we explain in this article how to deactivate and delete your account with the messenger service.

How to delete your account on Snapchat

If you no longer use Snapchat and therefore want to delete your account, this is not possible directly in the Snapchat app. Instead, please call up the address "accounts.snapchat.com" in the browser and log in there with your user data.

1. To delete your account, please click on "Delete my account" after logging in and confirm the process by re-entering your login data.
2. Your Snapchat account will then not be deleted immediately, however, but initially deactivated for 30 days.
3. If you do not reactivate your account within this period, your account and all your data will be deleted thereafter.
4. If you do decide to keep Snapchat during this time, simply log in to your account to reverse the deactivation.

In addition to the method described above, there is another way to delete your Snapchat account. To use it, please visit the Snapchat homepage at snapchat.com or tap the "gear icon" in the app. Then, navigate to the support section and click "Delete my account" under "My account and security" > "Account details". You will then be redirected to Snapchat's account website, where you can delete your account.
