YouTube app doesn't work - what now?

Apps are becoming increasingly popular. So also the app of the video platform YouTube. This is available for both Android and iOS in the corresponding app stores. However, it can happen that the application does not work properly.

Why does the YouTube app not work?

As with any software, it can happen that the YouTube app does not work. However, usually the cause can be found quickly.

1. First restart your smartphone or tablet. Possibly the app has hung up and works again as usual after a restart.
2. Check your Internet connection. If other apps or websites cannot be called up, restart your router by disconnecting it from the power supply for about 15 seconds.
3. Check whether an update is available for the app. To do this, go to the appropriate app store and continue to "Updates". Download all updates.
4. It may also help to reinstall the app. Delete it for this by pressing it long and then go to "Delete".
5. If there is a problem with the YouTube servers, you have no choice but to wait until they work again. Try the app every now and then to check if it is up and running again.

If the above steps did not help, contact the developers of the YouTube app and describe the problem. When doing so, also specify your smartphone model, as this is the only way the developers can test the error. Check if the app works again after the next update.
