Confluence: anchors - how to use anchors

Confluence is a software used to document and communicate knowledge and knowledge sharing. It is mainly used in companies and organizations, but is also used as the basis for many knowledge sites on the Internet.

How to create an anchor in Confluence

Anchors are usually used to create links. These are intended to lead to a specific page. This is to make it easier to navigate within long pages without the reader generally noticing this anchor. The creation of an anchor is possible with a few steps and handles.

1. First, click on the "+" sign or "Insert more content" in the Confluence editor to create an anchor.
2. Then navigate to "Other macros". Thereupon, the macro browser is opened.
3. There you type "Anchor" in the search mask and confirm your entry with "Enter".
4. Now you can give the anchor a name.
5. Now click on "Save" and thus confirm the creation of an anchor.
6. Next you have to link this anchor. Dabei kann dies zwischen zwei gleichen Confluence-Seiten erfolgen, aber auch von anderen Websites oder Confluence-Seiten.
7. Für einen Anker auf der gleichen Confluence-Seite wählen Sie zuerst den Text aus oder positionieren den Mauszeiger dort, wo der Anker gesetzt werden soll.
8. Nun selektieren Sie „Verknüpfung einfügen“.
9. Anschließend gehen Sie links auf „Erweitert“.
10. Dort wird nun der Name des Ankers in dem Verknüpfungsfeld in bestimmter Schreibweise eingegeben.
11. Nun geben Sie den Link-Text ein und bestätigen mit „Speichern“.
12. Für einen Anker von einer anderen Website oder Confluence-Seite geben Sie hingegen einfach eine vollständige URL ein.
