Huawei P30: Memory full despite memory card

If you use a memory card in your Huawei P30, but the device is full despite the SD card, this usually has a simple reason. Because in order for the device memory not to become full, you have to explicitly store data on this memory card instead of on the internal memory.

Often, new data such as apps, games, photos and more are automatically stored on the internal device memory. This is significantly smaller than the memory card on your Huawei P30, but unfortunately, the device does not select this more useful storage location by itself. However, you can move files and set the SD card as the storage location of your choice for photos, videos, etc. You can easily check whether you have a full device storage but an empty memory card in the settings. Switch to "System" and then tap on "Storage" to get an overview. This way, you can also locate apps that take up a lot of space.

Save photos automatically on the memory card

1. Open the camera app and tap the gear icon to open the settings.
2. In the list with the camera options, you will also find the entry "Memory".

Dateien verschieben
