iCloud: Costs - these prices are due for an upgrade

While the use of iCloud is basically free, the storage capacity in this basic version is limited. If you need more storage capacity to store your files, pictures or music, additional costs will be incurred. We give you an overview of the costs you should expect.

These costs are due when using iCloud

To store a backup of your Apple device in iCloud, every user has a free storage space of 5 GB. If the free storage is not enough for you, it is possible to expand it. However, this is associated with an extra charge, which depends on which storage upgrade you choose. In addition to the free 5 GB storage, there are three other storage options in the subscription:

1. If you only need a little more storage, you can get 50 GB in Apple's iCloud for €0.99 per month.
2. In the second subscription variant, you get a total of 200 GB storage, which costs you €2.99 per month.
3. You get even more storage by upgrading to the variant for 9,99€ per month, which increases the capacity of your iCloud to a total of 1 TB.

How to expand your iCloud storage

Have you decided to upgrade your iCloud storage, this is possible both via Mac and via a Windows PC or an iOS device such as iPhone or iPad. To buy more iCloud storage on your mobile device, please navigate to "Settings" > "[your name]> "iCloud" > "Manage storage", tap "Buy more storage" and select a storage plan.
