Switching Foxit Reader to German - how to do it

If you did not download Foxit Reader in German during installation, it is still possible to change the language afterwards. For this, however, you need the appropriate language pack. You can read here how to find it and then change the Reader to German.

Switch to German: Download the language file for Foxit Reader

Using Foxit Reader is possible in a total of 36 different languages. However, to switch Foxit Reader to German or another language, you need the appropriate language file.

1. To download the German language file from the manufacturer's archive, please call up the website "https://languages.foxitsoftware.com/" in the browser.
2. There, first select the version of Foxit Reader that you have installed on your computer from the drop-down menu to load the list of available language packages.
3. Search in the list then under "Language" for the entry "German" and download the language package with a click on "lang_en_de.xml".
4. Paste the language file now still in the program folder of Foxit, which you will find by default under C:/Program Files (x86)/Foxit Software/Foxit Reader.

Foxit Reader: How to change the language to German

Have you downloaded the German language pack, you can change the language of Foxit Reader directly in the program. To do this, first start Foxit and navigate in the menu to "Edit" > "Preferences"> "Language". Then check the "Choose custom language" box and select "German" as the language. As soon as you save the change with "OK", you can use Foxit Reader in German.
